El Hefe (NOFX // Goldfinger // The Aquabats)

Born in Sacramento, CA, sshhmute artist Aaron Abeyta, better known as El Hefe, of simply Hefe, from el Jefe (Spanish for "the boss") was the trumpeter, lead guitarist, and vocalist with the legendary Californian punk band, NOFX.
El Hefe was given his moniker because when he joined the band, Fat Mike (NOFX's lead singer)'s girlfriend at the time and co-owner of Fat Wreck Chords (whose name was Erin) thought it would be too confusing. So he asked Aaron if he minded being called El Hefe, and he said, "Sure, I don't care."
Known for his self-effacing sense of humour, charisma, and many voice impersonations (Beavis & Butthead, Yogi Bear, and other well-known cartoon characters), Hefe joined NOFX in 1991. His first recordings with the band contributed to NOFX's EP, The Longest Line. He remained in the band until the band's retirement in 2024.
Since NOFX's retirement, Hefe has kept himself busy performing with legendary ska/punk bands Goldfinger and The Aquabats, and also acting in the TV series, Mayans M.C., and the movie, Easy's Waltz.
