Izumi Nakanishi (Principal Trombone - Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra)

Izumi Nakanishi was born in Kanagawa, Japan. He started playing the trombone at the age of 12. He hold's a Bachelor's Degree in Trombone Performance that he received from the Tokyo University of Arts in 2000, where he studied with Masakatsu Kurita.

He received a prize from the Tokyo Bunkakaikan as a a young artist competition winner. Izumi was also one of the participants at the Alessi Seminar in 1999 & 2003, and also in Italy in 2002. In addition to this, he was also part of the same seminar in Alabama in 2011 as a fellow.

Since 2013, he has been the Principal Trombonist of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. He is also a part time lecturer at Seitoku University.
