DAVID BREMNER PRINCIPAL TROMBONE, NZSO
This is a fantastic practice mute, the best I have tried. It is so easy blowing through the complete range, including pedals. The sshhmute makes practicing enjoyable, and is great for tooting in hotels on tour with the orchestra. So many practice mutes are stuffy and out of tune, but this one is free blowing and straight-down-the middle in tune. The sshhmute is small and compact so it fits in my gig bag. I recommend this mute to all levels of players from beginners to professionals
DAVID KRAUSS PRINCIPAL TRUMPET - METROPOLITAN OPERA ORCHESTRA
The Sshhmute is the only practice mute I have tried that does not completely wreck my chops. Until I received your mute, I had given up using practice mutes altogether. While on tour, I would rather play into a pillow than use a practice mute that would alter my sense of resistance and pitch. The Sshhmute keeps the pitch well and plays with a tolerable amount of resistance. It plays so well that I've already used it in performance at the MET to help with an uncomfortably soft low register flutter-tongue passage. More importantly, living in an apartment building in New York City, this mute affords me the luxury of practicing late or early without disturbing my neighbors. Thank you for your wonderful mute.
JON HOLLAND JOINT PRINCIPAL TRUMPET - CITY OF BIRMINGHAM SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA - UK
Thank you for the trumpet practice mute. I found it to be more free blowing than other practice mutes which I have previously tried. The intonation was excellent and there was an even feel throughout the whole range. Due to the mute being very lightweight, the balance of the trumpet was not compromised and this made it extremely comfortable to use.
SHEONA WHITE FORMER SOLO HORN, YBS BAND (UK)
I think the new sshhmute for Tenor Horn is great; in fact this is something that has been sorely missed from my point of view over the years, so it's great to finally have a practice mute that's good quality.
KEVIN JOUGHIN SOUTH AUSTRALIA CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS 2005
I have been utilising the sshhmute for over 2 years now and I practice with the mute at home most nights and wouldn't practice without it. I must say that is has definitely contributed to improving my sound and also the projection of sound. It makes you listen a great deal more and when playing with the mute at band practice or a concert/contest it has noticeably helped me pitch notes more accurately than in previous years. Less grace notes!!! This also contributes to more confidence in your playing ability and I must add that my recent solo successes have been largely due to practicing with the mute. I doesn't disrupt other family members when practicing and I have noted that a lot more of our cornet players in K & N are utilising this mute.
MARK CARTER SUB PRINCIPAL TRUMPET, NZSO
sshhmute is the best practice mute I have ever played. It is free blowing throughout the entire range, especially noticeable in the upper and lower register, unlike other mutes I have used. I would recommend this to any professional or student player. It is exceptional...and a great price! This is the first practice mute with a realistic response. The sshhmute is slightly more open, allowing a greater natural feel and excellent intonation. The shape is very well thought out. It fits into all my trumpets and cornets with the same good qualities.

Just terrific
ALAN CAMPBELL ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE, UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-MADISON
The Bremner practice mute- the sshhmute-took me totally by surprise. A colleague in the Columbus (OH) Symphony told me to try his and I was simply amazed! I have never before played a quiet practice mute that delivered such consistent intonation, consistent timbre and most impressively, clear, full low range. I bought one, and introduced it to my colleagues in the Madison and Milwaukee Symphonies and the Wisconsin Brass Quintet, and they all went out and bought them. These mutes are now all over the Midwest! We have used the mutes in quintet, on symphony pops concerts, and in Milwaukee, on the last chord of Zarathustra - life saver! This is a terrific product and a HUGE improvement over the conventional practice mutes, and electronic practice mutes.

The sshhmute is quite simply the best practice mute I have ever used. It feels great to play and is amazingly quiet- a real lifesaver in hotels, airports and even on planes.
PAULA RUSSELL NEW ZEALAND SOLO CHAMPION 2009, NEW ZEALAND SLOW MELODY CHAMPION 2009, AUSTRALIAN CORNET CHAMPION 2009, ERN KELLER INTERNATIONAL
"The Bremner sshhmute mute is a fantastic piece of kit that is completely indispensible to me. Having used many different practice mutes over the years this is the best I have used and I couldnt go without it. As well as having less resistance (helping to open the tone), practically speaking it can be taken anywhere you go allowing you to keep up your practice wherever you may be. I use the bremner sshhmute everyday and when performing I use it right up to the point of going on stage. A fantastic resource for any brass musician.
MARTIN WINTER CO-PRINCIPAL TRUMPET BERGEN PHILHARMONIC, CORNET - EIKANGER-BJORSVIK MUSIKKLAG
This is the first practice mute with a realistic response. The sshhmute is slightly more open, allowing a greater natural feel and excellent intonation. The shape is very well thought out. It fits into all my trumpets and cornets with the same good qualities.
PETER LUFF HEAD OF BRASS - QUEENSLAND CONSERVATORIUM, GRIFFITH UNIVERSITY, SOLO HORN - SOUTHERN CROSS SOLOISTS
The sshhmute is superior to every practice mute I have played. The problems of poor intonation, excessive resistance and poor low register associated with other horn practice mutes, have been solved. This is an excellent product that has become a vital part of my touring luggage and I recommend it highly. Congratulations Trevor and thanks
PHILIP SMITH PRINCIPAL TRUMPET NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC
The piccolo trumpet sshhmute is a great addition to your regular practice mute. Simply put, I love these mutes.
RYAN RESKY FREELANCE TRUMPET, NYC
I have played every practice mute on the market and by far this is the best. It's the most in tune and freeblowing mute from the lows to the highs. I especially feel no difference when the mute comes out, since I often have to use the mute. Great job on a great product.
JAMES MORRISON Internationally Acclaimed Jazz Trumpeter
This mute is fantastic. It doesn't affect my intonation, not too much resistance - but nobody can hear me in a hotel in the middle of the night!
FRANK GABRIEL CAMPOS TRUMPET PROFESSOR - ITHACA COLLEGE & AUTHOR OF 'TRUMPET TECHNIQUE' (OXFORD UNIVERSITY PRESS, 2005)
Thank you for this wonderful mute! I have several practice mutes but the sshhmute is my favorite. In addition to the superb pitch and response, it is also light as a feather. I will continue to recommend it to everyone, particularly students who often find themselves needing to practice in situations where playing open horn is not possible, such as school dormitory rooms or late at night. It is extremely quiet but surprisingly free blowing. The timbre is consistent from the lowest pedal tones to the very top of the horn. I use it every day in my warm-up. Thanks for this excellent product--my best wishes to you!
ALISON BALSOM TRUMPET SOLOIST- UK
The Bremner practice mute is an excellent product. I am a trumpet soloist based in the UK, but travel all over. The mute works extremely well, and I have already used it on a number of occasions just before going on stage, where I have needed to be discreet, but hear myself back, with better intonation than most practice mutes allow
CHRISTIAN LINDBERG
The Bremner practice mute is a wonderful, light and practical mute that every trombone player should own.
CHARLES VERNON BASS TROMBONE, CHICAGO SYMPHONY
I have found that when I am on tour in a hotel room the mute is fantastic. It lets me play at any volume without distorting the pitch. It also fits great in the horn and goes into a case with ease. Congratulations and thanks!
HECTOR MCDONALD PRINCIPAL HORN VIENNA SYMPHONY, PRINCIPAL HORN CONCENTUS MUSICUS VIENNA, PROF. FOR HORN KUNST UNIVERSITAT GRAZ (UNIV. FOR THE AR
The SHHHH-mute has been a very welcome discovery for me and countless other brass professionals and students. It's free blowing all over the instrument, discreet but not inhibiting. A must for travelling and only a matter of time before it becomes an essential part of every brass players equipment. I can highly recommend it.
Just terrific
